"From these reflections and notes, there is no definitive truth, there is a search. It is this search that constitutes the core of my memory as a national political leader. These documents represent a journey, in which I sought to honestly fulfill my duties as head of government of an unlikely country."
The IPP Archive brings together an important part of the documentary collection that Commander Pedro Pires accumulated throughout his political career, from simple notes and reflective processes that inspired and led to the development of important public policies in Cabo Verde in the years immediately following national independence to more elaborate documents on the country's development challenges. You will also find documents related to the independence processes of Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau and others produced during his terms as both Prime Minister of Cabo Verde and President of the Republic. If you are interested in knowing him as a party leader, documents produced during the years when Pedro Pires led the PAICV in opposition are also included.
IPP appreciates your visit to the Presidential Archive and hopes you have an enriching experience getting to know, through this platform, a little more about its Patron and the small part of Cabo Verde's history in which he was one of the protagonists.
